Our Programs
Free literacy and language learning for adults.
One-on-One Adult Basic Education Tutoring
One-on-One Adult Basic Education Tutoring helps adults build reading and writing skills for their own goals. You might want to fill out job applications, read workplace instructions, communicate more confidently, or read with your children at home. You’ll work with a volunteer Learning Coach at your own pace.
One-on-One English Language Learning Tutoring
One-on-One English Language Learning Tutoring helps adults build English skills for everyday life and personal goals. Learners work with a volunteer Learning Coach on speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Lessons focus on each learner’s goals, such as communicating at work, filling out forms, or talking with a doctor. Each session offers time to practice and ask questions.
Next Chapter Club
The Next Chapter Club brings adults together to enjoy reading and conversation. Members share their thoughts and hear different perspectives. It’s a friendly place to connect with others and grow as a reader. Join us Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. at Flat River Community Library.
Current Events and Research Club
The club gives members a chance to explore topics that interest them. Some focus on current events, while others research a topic of their choice. Everyone can learn in a way that works for them. Join us Thursdays at 11 a.m. at Flat River Community Library.
ELL Conversation Groups
Want to practice English and meet new people? Join one of our in-person or online ESL groups. Practice conversation in a friendly setting. Groups meet at different times throughout the year, so ask us for the current schedule.
