Cheryl Smith is Montcalm Area Reading Council’s newest board member. The Howard City resident is the director of the Timothy C. Hauenstein Reynolds Township Library. She has been with the library for nearly twenty years. Prior to that, she worked at Head Start as a center director and eventually an area coordinator. She is also a trustee on the Howard City Village Council.
“The thing that excited me about MARC is the opportunity to bring help to the people in the panhandle of the county,” Smith explained. “We have been approached by people who would like help learning to read and this will hopefully open a door for them.”
In Smith’s free time she enjoys reading, gardening and helping in the community.
